Up to 60 children at a time
A day with the Vikings will include some or all of the following:
Battle Drill
Learn why the Vikings
were so succesful -
and so feared!
Long Hall Building
The children construct thier own
Viking Long Hall to keep in their classroom.
Follow-up projects may include
making furniture - or even people!
Amulet Making
Most Vikings liked to wear jewellery - often as tokens of good luck.
Everyone goes home with a pewter pendant that they have crafted themselves.
Viking Ship Burial
What happens when a popular
and powerful leader dies?
We re-enact a Dark Age ship burial.
Later on in the day we will
re-visit this burial site for
a live excavation, guided by
our expert archaeologists..

Dark Age Settlement
The children try their hands at various crafts, typical of those you find in a
Viking Settlement. Includes Runes, weaving, woodwork.
Dark Age Feast
After a hard day of battle, burials and building, what better way to relax than
with a Dark Age Feast? Permission slips for food-tasting can be downloaded from this website.
The History Detectives
Explore different historical sources and their interpretations as part of this
lively history game.
Available as either a whole or half day workshop. We provide all costumes, materials and the Dark Age Feast.

Whole Day £250
Half DAy £150
Each workshop goes out with 2 members of staff and can be fitted around the normal school timetable.
- We bring costumes for everyone (sorry teachers - that doesn't include you!)
We cater for up to 60 children at a time
