We look at Local History in your area, using changes in Transport & Farming over the years. All of these workshops are thoroughly researched in advance to ensure that they are tailored to your locality.

The Way That We Farm - 1800's onwards
- Farming in the 1800's - A Family Affair
- Changing technology - ploughing/seed drills etc
- Crops and Hops - where they were grown and changing quantities
- Bread - where does it come from?
- Combine Harvesters and Threshing Machines - working demonstrations
- The Steam Effect - simple pressure experiments run by classroom scientists
- Tithe Records Detectives
- Sir John Lawes - Who is he and why is he important?
- Industrial Farming versus Natural Farming
- Where are they now? - Local farms/farming families and how they have changed
- 'Hands on History' - have a go at using old farming tools such as seed drills, dock grubbers and hop forks. Butter-making.
Both of these workshops are highly interactive and 'hands on', and will
be adapted to suit your locality.

We will attend in period costume and bring outfits for the children to try on.
These workshops cater for up to 60 children, and can be run as half or whole day events.
